Serps

My wife is approaching 61 and has had a pension forecast. Although she had a number of years out ( self employed ) her serps was rather better than I thought. ( Glad we didn`t know about opt out ). My question is that I understand that the basic pension is subject to CPI related rises but is the serps element.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Increases
The Basic State Pension is increased each April using the increase in earnings, prices (CPI) or 2.5 per cent, whichever is highest. The additional state pension amounts are increased in line with CPI. The increase is applied in the first week of the new financial year, normally on the first Monday.0
