    Nationwide Building Society is currently running a scheme for FTB - open a special savings account and I think the condition is to deposit £50 for a few months to qualify for the 5% deposit mortgage.

    Personally, in the current climate I wouldn't touch a 95% mortgage with someone else's bargepole - especially on a new build or apartment.
  • Clydesdale are in trouble so I doubt they will be giving anything away too easily right now. It's all over the Scottish news.
