HELO-AGL Bryan Carter and a County Court Claim Form

Hello all.
I have, this morning, received a county court claim form from AGL. This claims
£177.14
court fee £15.00
Solicitors cost £50.00
Total £242.14
The particulars of the claim say;
The claimant claims £177.14 being the balance of consideration outstanding to it under account number AGGL******** in respect of services rendered to the defendant.
The claimant also claims interest thereon pursuant to s.69 county court act 1984 limited to one year to the date hereof at the rate of 8% per annum amounting to 0.00
what the heck is this about?
No where does it say on this form who the heck this debt is owed to so how am I supposed to defend myself or otherwise please? Also, how would I fill in this form to say that they havent stated who the debt is to and therefore how can I own up to it or deny it.
If someone could help I would be really very grateful.
I am really worried about this

Hi Nottoolate
I did post something this morning but you are the first person to reply to my question. Its all very worrying isnt it.
Thanks though0 -
Essentially you cannot defend. That, I suspect is part of the tactics to make it look too hard to defend so that you cave in.whatonearth wrote: »Hello all.

What you need is the 'embarrassed defence' [try it in google and make sure you are on UK sites and looking at English Law]
And a tip. f you go down the road of defending on this basis, you may find that they call you after all paperwork is exchanged, but before the hearing and say that they will cancel court proceedings. This is a common dirty trick, where they then go on with hearing in your absence. It is difficult to overturn a judgement in such a case. Always plan to turn up for the hearing, unless the court says it is off.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi
Thanks for the reply but I dont know who the debt is too so I can neither defend or admit?0 -
Even if you do acknowledge that you might have some debts, unless enough information is submitted to allow you to tie this claim to a debt you do acknowledge, it is reasonable to assume that you do not owe this money. So you would defend rather than admit. And given that you are defending and there is not enough information to substantiate the existence of a debt, then the embarrassed defence is appropriate.whatonearth wrote: »Hi
