tax on share dividends

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question so feel free to move it if necessary.
I stopped working at the beginning of May 2011. I am in receipt of a company pension of £6500pa. I am paying tax on dividends on some shares I have. Should I be? If not can I reclaim the tax paid and stop future tax deuctions. If so , how? Many thanks for any help given

Dividends carry a notional tax credit of 10% which is non-repayable. Used to be many moons ago.
