[SIZE=-1]As a vulnerable consumer, I am concerned about my recent visit to PC World.

I bought a laptop computer from them, and they used their 'point of sale' advantage to also sell me a zip up bag to put the laptop in. They did not tell me about the existence of alternative (and possibly cheaper) suppliers of zip up bags that I could have used if I had so wished.

As a by-product of being labelled as 'vulnerable' I am completely unable to think or make decisions for myself. If only there had been a zip up bag comparison site that I could have been directed towards such as www.comparethezipupbag.com I might have been able to sleep better at night since.

I was recently entagled in a battle with Comet over its ExtraCare service plan. I might add that this is a policy rather than a warranty and I found later that it was not covered by the Financial Ombudsman, but I digress.

The policy clearly stated a guaranteed fast no hassle service, but this was not received when my appliance developed a fault. Instead I was bounced from pillar to post to try and have the issue resolved. In the end I gave up and bought a new appliance and sent a letter of complaint to Comet regarding the value of the ExtraCare plan. Comet seemed to think it was acceptable despite there stated guarantee. After many letters did they finally back down and refund the cost of appliance and the cost of this so called "Policy".

Pointless and expensive is my summary for these policies
