lots of jobs require work at home, including my own unfortunately.
difference is if you are on a basic salary, and/or cold calling this is well out of order. For a professional sales person on a professional salary, selling b2b it might be more acceptable as research
If the former, then you could and probably should state the computer has broken. however if they are as unprofessional as they seem to be, then they might dispense with services under some reason or another.0
