Default Judgement, what next?

I hope someone can help me, I took a job and wasn't paid for the work that I did, so I began an employment tribunal and got a default judgement, this was in 2010. I wasn't too sure what I had to do with the judgement plus I didn't know where the employer had gone.
I've recently filled in the forms to send off to court to enforce the judgement however having spoken to the court today they said I have to wait 2 weeks before I can enforce it and get a CCJ on them. I thought that the forms I had sent off were the forms to get a CCJ and that the next step was bailiff/attachment etc? Does anyone know what the procedure is or what I have to do next?

It sounds like you have issued a claim against the employer for money owed to you.

Assuming that is what you have done, then you do have to wait 14 days to see if the defendant wants to defend the claim. Only if the defendant ignores the claim can you get a CCJ against them so quickly (ie after 14 days).

Read up on claiming money using the small claim court to see how it works.

Thank you for your reply, I have read the small claims guides but I don't know if I have understood it properly. Do I have to send something else off for the CCJ? I thought what I had sent off would be for the CCJ, or is it just a notice to say I am paving the way to get the money owed to me?
I spoke with the court and they said people very rarely respond.
Could they have a defence if they pretty much ignored the whole tribunal?

Sorry I should also mention, it is the county court that my forms have gone to, it's not throgh the small claims court

OK, I've been reading through the directgov sites and I think I'm missing something somewhere, has anyone else been through this?
    > judge awards default at tribunal
    > forms off to county court
    > county court send something off to defendant
    > If no response I then apply for CCJ
    > Then apply again to enforce bailiffs or whatever

Is that how it goes? I thought that what I have sent off would lead to the ccj being issued? Then I apply to enforce? I'm so confused, there seems to be so many seperate pages on this, and there isn't any step by step on one page, I haven't found one yet anyway

They are one and the same.

If you have submitted a claim for the money owed, then once the 14 days are up you will have to submit a request for judgement.

Yoir local county court should have leaflets explaining the procedures. Alternatively search MCOL for a claimants guide online.
