MWP not legal because....

My friend has noticed that his Jobseekers Agreement on page 2 states that the most hours he can work each week is "00.00" And, it has been signed by a member of staff at the Jobcentre. He has just started the MWP on which he must complete at least 30 hours work. But, his JSAgreement states "Most hours I can work each week" is zero hours.

:rotfl:

I urge all Jobseekers to check page two of their own JSAg. It just shows how disorganised the jobcentres are. Can he opt out of the MWP as his JSagreement booklet is signed and contradicts the requirement for him to complete 30 hours on the MWP. Also, if he had limited the number of hours he was available for work to less than 30 hours, there is no way the JC could send him on MWP.

What is the MWP? Is that the Work Programme?

At a guess, JCP staff would cheerfully inform you that an error has been made and simply correct it.

I think you will find that when you sign the new Jobseekers Agreement it is explained to you as it was me that you can't restrict the hours you work. I had 9-6 Monday to Friday on mine and by having no times in the days it means you are available for work 24 hours a day if you have no dependants.
