Many thanks, you have all given me lots to think about, including SIPP, trouble is I have very little interest in the stock market.
For example I bought Egg plc shares when they were launched in 2000 but only found out a few weeks ago that they are part of the pru.
The 4.5% I mentioned earlier was a bid spread charge, I understand that there are dealings which do not carry such a charge so there is a potential to save.
Regarding the buy to let market, even if prices stand still the rental surplus averages some £450.00 per month, problem is the newer rates are not so cheap.0
