Well, technically this isn't quite right. Apple do reserve the right to delete your apps and/or developer account if they discover that you've used a hackintosh to develop on (although I doubt they'd pick it up).InsideInsurance wrote: »You;ll be left with a very good computer.
You could use a hackingtosh instead - there are some net books that can run Mac OSX though graphics programs could be painful. A hackingtosh isnt anything "illegal" just the name of a none Apple PC that runs their operating system
But... I used this very route at the start and my mate pre-loaded MAC OSX onto the netbook I bought off of him for £200. It was really cramped trying to code on a 10" screen, but, it worked and my first 3 apps were all designed and coded on a hackintosh netbook. It was those first 3 apps that allowed me to upgrade to a real mac for development. within a couple of months
I didn't use Game Salad as I never produced games, I produced reference applications and designed my own navigation system using a combination of Objective C 2.0 for the User Interface (along with Interface Builder for the 'wiring' aspect of the code) and my main content was just HTML on the screen. So think of it as a hybrid app.
Best of luck
