Dear all,
I'm interested in self teaching myself some Statistics. I don't wish to go to tech or school etc to learn. Does anyone know how I go about planning this and sitting the exam?
Thanks
Steve

Is there a reason for specifically doing an A Level rather than just general studying? I did Statistics as part of AS level Maths at school. For me it would be very hard to teach it to myself - as there would be no one to correct/explain things. And it was a big step up from GCSE statistics.
Im sure there are long distance/e-learning courses you can do.0 -
You might find it useful to ask if there are any home schooling groups near to you. They tend to have found friendly schools that will take them for the examinations.
It can be hard to get a school to accept you for the exams as your results will be counted in their league tables and schools are often reluctant to take on external candidates as you might drag their own stats down. After all they don't know if you will pass or get a top mark. You are an unknown quantity to them.
Studying through your local college tends to be a lot cheaper than distance learning and you get lessons/tutorials too. I would check out their course list.
Some sixth forms do A levels at night too, try phoning them and asking, can't do any harm. There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0
