Please Help

Hello..

This is my first post so please be easy on me..

So im 23 years old and in December 2011 i completed my protected scottish Trustdeed. Yeah 23 and finnished a trust deed. I got into 20k of debt by the time i was 19. credit was just flung at me from everywhere. 5k limits on credit cards. Needless to say i couldnt pay it so entered a trust deed. paid 221 a month for 3 years. So i did pay back just underhalf the debt.

Well paying the 221 a month to my trustdeed i got into a bit of trouble with payday companies (i was off work sick and didnt get paid one month, was so scared to miss my trust deed payment, incase i ended up bankrupt i got a pdl to cover it) needless to say it became a trap.. however. I since december have used my trustdeed payment to pay them off :D

It has been the hardest 3 and a half years of my life (longer if you include the mass debt and constant telephone calls before i got in my trust deed) anyways.

I need some advice. as im only 23 im looking to rebuild my credit. I shall want a morgate in a few years and maybe a new car. After 4 years of hell. i feel like i deserve a treat. (i liturally had NO money at all for myself in 4 years) and was wondering if there is anythning i can do..

My problem is.. I included all the normal credit building ones in my trust deed.

cant go to capital one.. barclays... vanquis.. any catalogues...

My bank wont help even with an over draft... even thought i paided my 1000 overdraft back before i entered my trustdeed. because i didnt want to mess up my current account (new i would be lucky to get a current again).

Thanks in advance

If its only just been paid off, plese wait at least six months before trying. Then you don't have that worry looming so suddenly.
Next, what is your SOA at the moment after coming out of the trust deed? What do you owe to payday loan companies, what are your outgoings?
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
  • One word SAVE!
You want a new car but do you NEED a new car?

Pay all of your bills on time and don't ever get another PDL!

Slowly but surely this will build up your credit rating - it might take several years before you get a choice of credit card or loan but there are no shortcuts.

Sorry to hear of the mess you are in. I was also....

Firstly PDL suck and are a big no no.

With regards to your problems, you are very unlikely to get any sympathy on here. I don't know why, but they are quite an odd bunch who dish out advice and you are likely to get rattled by them for 'wanting a treat'. If you are in debt, people will advise you to pay back what you owe and then 'have a treat'.
Although you have my every sympathy cause I have been there. 4 years with nothing is terrible mentally draining. However, some might say you have had it all whilst you were spending! I know I thought I did.

Maybe post on the debt advice forum,

    Best of luck
  • Why would you want to put yourself potentially back into the same
    situation. As already said SAVE.
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)
  • Yeah, treat yourself to more credit. You dont get to treat yourself for paying off debts you amassed.

What you should be doing is basking in the knowledge that you're debt free - not seeking to get more.

Jones is right but dont even think you are gonna get a 'high street' interested in you in the next six years! Credit ratings will take that long to recover from whats happened to you. Sorry but its true, only prov, vanquis and pdl's from now on. Dont do it.......

Better off having nothing, no credit building nonsense!

Keep paying that £221. Into a savings account and dont touch it except for when you put down a deposit on your house in a few years time.

Loans are nearly always bad news, un-necessary, expensive and a ball and chain round your neck!!

    Save.

Build up a deposit for a house.

Don't borrow for anything for a couple of years.

Pay all your bills on time.

Whats wrong with saving up for it,
  • Thanks for all the replies...

    dont think i explained right...

I did owe 325 to wonga and 480 to pduk... however the first thing i did after my trust deed finnished was pay this off..

i have no debt what so ever...

I still stay at home and only pay 300 dig money to help my mum with bills..

I could easily save for a car but then they do say... for big purchases you are actually better to pay up on a 0%APR...

Im just a bit worried that i dont even have any bills i can pay that can show on my credit.. im just worried there is nothing i can do to build it up... I will never get in debt again minus the normal things like car and mortage. I dont even want a credit card or anything i just wanted to try and rebuild.. i dont want to go for a mortage years from now and get the doors slammed in my face because i have no record at all...(hopefully trust deed is off my file at that point)
