They don't charge for the form... they charge for the work done and the results supplied.

    What do they make hard?

You can buy forms at legal stationers or many LAs provide downloads of forms.

Are you wanting to do the searches yourself? If you are, some councils don't hold all of the information in publicly available registers - you need to check with your council, on the other hand some do - they're all different. And you usually need to contact more than one department as the info isn't usually in one place.

Our local council will do a Con29r and LLIC for £88 - well worth it IMHO - at least if a mistake is made you have some come back through their insurance - if the council do it they are liable for any errors, if you do it you are.

Prices vary for each Local Authority. Solicitors overcharge in my opinion and imply that they are Local Authority charges. I also don't agree with you that Local Authorities make it difficult to obtain these forms.

I agree with ash28 that it is well worth the money.

I thought this was going to be spam advertising personalised number plates. I have TUT 92R on retention if anyone is interested.
    I think....

What does that read as then?

It would be possible to have my initials/last name on a plate by buying one from about 30 years ago or so.
