As has been previously suggested Debenhams.
This one comes in under budget, including the tea-pot, as long as the design does not put you off.

But no milk-jug or sugar bowl. For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

Are you near an Ikea? This range is quite nice and reasonably priced and you could buy as many or few as you like (maybe an extra few cups in case of breakages). Under £30 without teapot or just over £40 with teapot.

While I was looking I came across this and I'm in love but the price! It would cost almost £350 for a six piece set!

thank you everybody, you found some great ideas for me. I couldn't believe how hard it was to find something!
Top marks to Anguk - I do like the Ikea ones you found but I've sworn never to give them another penny of mine since they tortured me for 3 months so that's out - but Dunhelm mill poppy one looks perfect, not too flowery/girly for us but a nice looking set, great price, and we can mix'n'match to get a few spares as well.
I KNEW you guys could do it.
