I've been after one to take the strain off my laptops nearly full hard drive. Thought this looked like quite a good price.
Quidco too.

Some hints on Amazon reviews that it may not be super reliable though.
After reading the the Amazon reviews I'm still happy to give it a try, there's far more positives than negatives (I'd imagine the majority of folk are more likely to write a review if they've had a bad experience so I'd guess the spectrum of users would trend towards the negative). Also, most of the negative comments are due to operating system compatibility issues. However, thanks for some useful info.0 -
Coming up as £79.99 for me??First ever win: Samsung Genio Touch Mobile Phone!!0

Also worth noting that it has an external power supply, if I read this correctly.
The ones that are self powered through the usb cable are more attractive & pricier - I have both types at home and end up using the usb powered one all the time.

From the Play.com specs list for this item- Power Consumption Max 12W
- Power Supply AC100-240V 50/60Hz

HDD prices are still on their way down after the thai floods last year... A year and a bit ago I bought a external portable 1tb drive (freecom classic) which is USB3 for £70... and as mentioned, portable drives are infintiely easier to use than larger 'desktop' hdds which need separate power, though they are more expensive usually because 2.5"hdds are more expensive than 3.5" varieties. I also bought a 3.5" 2tb drive for £55... add another tenner for a caddy and I could have had 2tb external drive for £65.0

I think I paid £50 for a 2TB external drive last year before the floods and it would probably have been even cheaper this year. Unless you really need a drive it's best to hold on for as long as possible, and deleting anything you don't need. It might be cheaper to burn something to DVD-r for now and get a new drive for half the price later this year0
