Are you worried about Parabens in your beauty products!

Options
Hi, I wondered what others thought about the fact that parabens are used in so many brands of the beauty products you buy. I have now decided to try and use only products that do not list these in their ingredients after reading about health concerns with them but my regular favourite brands all have them in, Liz Earle, Elemis, Gatineau, Alpha H, so decided to stop using all these. Why can't the big companies who use natural ingredients stop using these parabens. The only ranges I have come across that don't use them are Caudalie, The Organic Pharmacy so my choices are now limited. Are others concerned or is it just me? My Liz Earle cleanse & polish has had to go which I love, if anyone can recommend a paraben free alternative which is just as good I would be very grateful, thanks Mandy

    Not worried about them personally

They are a good preservative, cheap to produce (and therefore buy) and some of the alternatives to parabens just ain't so good. Thats why the big companies use them...cheaper!
I know there has been some concern about a possible link to cancer..but this is inconclusive, and nearly *everything* can be linked to cancer, it just depaneds on whether the link is causal or not.
I personally would rather go with parabens (and products that are cheaper and last longer) than the alternatives...but that is just me.

I think the main alternative to parabens (as far as i am aware of) is grape seed extract..good luck in finding something which is suitable for you.
One thing...that sets pulses racing...that gets hearts pounding...for which there is no substitute...only YOU can provide...blood.

Only 5% of the eligible population give blood: do something amazing today, save a life, give blood

The only problem with parabens is that a lot of people are allergic to them. (Many don't even know.) You should count yourself lucky that you can choose to cut out parabens as a lifestyle choice, rather than have to stop using products containing them for medical reasons.

Rant over. Good luck finding an alternative. I use Clinique for everything, might be worth checking the product labels to see if the relevant products you want to use from the Clinique range are parabens free?
