We are travelling to IoW in August, looking at the way they structure their prices for midweek travel, car+4 passengers on our likely holiday dates and times:
Saver Single S'ton-Cowes: £50
Saver Single Cowes-S'ton: £42.50
Saver Return for our actual dates: £92.50
Saver Day-Return S'ton-Cowes-S'ton (on same day): £17 + £17 = £34
Saver Day Return Cowes-S'ton-Cowes (1 week later): £34
What's to stop me buying the two separate day return tickets and throwing away the return half, saving £24.50? Can they *make* me travel the return leg?!0 -
Hi Did anyone find out about this previous post as I'm wondering the same - seems crazy not to buy 2 x day returns for the start and end dates of our week holiday when its at least £20 cheaper than buying a saver return for the week.
Alternatively does anyone know of any current codes for travelling this month?
Thanks

yep we have just booked this way!
we are staying on iow 5-10 june and would have been over £90 getting the weekly type ticket, so we worked it out at getting 2 cheapest day returns which we got for £14 each way (£28) day trip done this twice, keeping up? so return trip for sunday and a return trip for friday and its total of £56, i rang them up and asked why its cheaper to book two returns trips and waste a journey each way, than it is to book a 'proper' return trip, he said he didnt know why, but he knew it was and it was ok to do so.
they can hardly force you to drive back over to mainland anyway!
but what a waste of time, so we have two journeys unused, two spaces on the ferry wasted and its cheaper than just doing two trips? weird!
so if any one is coming home from iow sunday 5 june we have a ticket!plus we used a code lol!0
