Working in Ireland - should I get a bank account?

Hi
I am wondering if anyone can give me any advice. I work freelance moving from job to job which can last anything from one day to six months. I have been offered and accepted a job working in Dublin for approximately 6 weeks starting at the end of february.
My query is whether I need (or if it is best to) get an Irish bank account for my pay. This will be in Euros. I have had suggestions of keeping the pay in an irish account in euros and using them whenever I go to europe on holiday. However I can't really afford to do this especially as I have an offset mortgage so really need to the transfer the money there.
So I suppose the question is,
Should I get an Irish bank account and then transfer the money into my own UK account
See if they can pay directly into my UK account
and also are there better accounts than others to do this - I currently bank with HSBC although my mortgage and offset accounts are with YBS. However for financial reasons I am more than happy to set up an account with a different bank.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
K
