Thanks all, it's good to know that we are not alone ;)
Ironic thing is, I've been bleating to DH recently about the lack of space in the kitchen, despite having 15 cupboards and 8 drawers
Now I know why, and intend doing one cupboard each day until it's all cleared of junk I will never use.

I've never been one for buying loads of cleaning products. Just mainly using washing up liquid, cif and bleach.
When MIL died I was clearing the house and brought back all her potions (correct word;) ) thinking yipee - freebies! Except for the bleach they have stayed in the box in the garage since then, I just don't need them!

That's about half of what is under mine, I have a huge double cupboard, but DP has sort of challenged me, knowing I am working on reducing the excess (have a seperate box with what I am keeping using) he says if I get it emptied on one side he'll get me a wishdosher as I called it when I got excited, dishwasher to other people :rotfl: Cloths are in a bag in the cupboard. Also have a rack full of more stuff that should be under sink but doesn't fit!

Worst is bathroom, working on reducing that also, think we're down to 7 showergels each, 6 bottles of conditioner, 4 kids shampoo, well by that you see the way the lists going :rotfl:

I swear I am a reformed shopaholic, it's just taking a while to get through, I haven't bought cleaning products or toiletries since last September or something and still have loads to use up!

This is what I plan on keeping in kitchen cupboard when it's eventually sorted after I get through all these potions.

Stardrops, Soda Crystals, essential oils, washing powder, zoflora, borax, bicarb, washing up liquid, soap nuts, shoe polish, first aid box.

    I think that'll do!
One day I might be more organised...........

That's the one place I haven't looked at properly yet. I dread to think what I shall find - bottles and bottles of stuff that may no longer be good and I never used because I had forgotten about it

dunno about under the sink but i caught a plum on legs running up my stairs yesterday..
  • I solved my under sink cupboard problem when i was given 2 of the plastic boxes with handles that are designed for carrying with you as you clean. One is now full of general cleaners & the other is full of shoe polish etc. I used up all the stuff in the cupboards & now I 'try' to just keep the 2 boxes full.

Since trying to be a bit more OS it's amazing how much room I've generated in cleaning and toiletry cupboards. It's a good feeling :) Thanks for the Stardrops recommendation again.

Out of interest, do you guys keep cleaning stuff in the bathroom? I do so that I can clean when the urge takes me but somehow doesn't feel v OS

Yes, I keep bleach, toilet duck and cheapo bathroom cleaner spray on the floor next to the loo brush in the hope that I will be inspired to clean whenever it's looking a bit dodgy. Doesn't work tho!
Oh dear, here we go again.

Today I decided to clean out the cupboards under the sink. I'm ashamed to admit I can't remember how long it is since I did it. Anyway, I was shocked to find the following:
3 bottles of spray kitchen cleaner
    2 tins of furniture polish
    4 tins of air freshener
    2 tins of fly spray
2 half used packets of washing soda
5  tins of WD40 type maintenance spray (DH)
    1 tin suede guard
2 half used tubs of Oxy stain removal granules
    2 tins of carpet foam
11 samples of washing powder/liquid/fabric conditioner
Half a sachet of mouldy cat food :o
    various part tins of varnish/paint
3 tins of stuff to clean the black bits of the car
umpteen jay cloths, nylon and metal scrubbers
And, that's apart from the few things I have readily to hand for every day use.

Hmmm, don't think we'll be buying anything else for at least a year.
What about you? What do you have hiding away?
Confession is good for the soul.:rotfl:

wow! does your cupboard extend into Narnia? mind, i'm moving out soon and i think i might be in for a shock... oh well!
