    Eh?...........lost me know!

TC825 = Working sheet for tax credit relief for Gift Aid donations, pension contributions and trading losses.

Basically, pension contributions do not count as income for tax credit purposes.
Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious! :D

Don't worry it's amazing how many people don't realise this adjustment can be made as tartanterra says, on worksheet tc825 there is space to put your income etc and then to add in any deductions for pension contributions.

In regard to your other post BoGof I suppose we would need to get the change in Tax Code before March? So given the time, I would think getting a one off payment would be best rather than the Tax code approach and as you say we'd need to apply after this Tax year has finished, so they can see all figures are final.

So I guess my question still stands as regards the Tax Rebate and/or Deduction of Pension Contributions for Tax Credit purposes. Can we do both?

Was just confused why you suddenly brought tax credits into the equation.

Yeah the code would need to be issued in time for the employer's March payroll run otherwise it won't be operated.

    Yes you can do both
  • Yes the fact that it may or may not affect Tax Credits, only just occurred to me so rather than open a new thread I thought I might as well hang it on the end. You know what it's like when you think you might be in line for a bit of extra cash, you start thinking of all the reasons why you might not get it.
    Thanks for your help.
