i agree about the ORs. One rule in one place should apply across the board
When you inform the OR about this, you could also let him know, what if anything you have this money earmarked for. If it is for something essential like car repairs to enable you to get to work etc, it has been know for people to be allowed to keep it, or a percentage of it, especialy when it is smaller amounts.
