Rock music for reception

We're meeting our DJ next weekend, and he's asked for us to take suggestions along so he gets an idea of what kind of music we like. I'm a big music fan, from 50s up to modern stuff, but OH is much more picky lol, and is struggling to come up with anything. He likes AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Guns'n'Roses, Queen etc, but apart from the obvious big hits, what else is there in that general theme?? That's wedding appropriate lol! At the moment, our suggestions list is full of cheese that will have OH heading for the bar!

We had a similar issue, I'm a lot rockier than dw, so we broke our play list down into sets:
4-6 (start - speeches) - summery vibe, a little jazzy, a bit of country etc
6:30-8 (speeches til first band set) - mellow pop, getting a little rockier by the end
8:45-9:30 (between band sets) - Up beat pop/rock
10:15-11 (between band sets) - Cheesy pop, sing alongs
11:45-1 (after band) - Dance
1-2: Rock
2-4: Anything goes, bit of hip hop, some more rock, then generic chill-out.
The band also did rockier pop, so I felt like there was a fair amount of music with "integrity" to balance out the stuff that actually got people dancing
In the end, we wound down around 2:30 anyway, so didn't need all of the music.
I'd not worry too much about "what's suitable for a wedding", certainly later on when the kids have gone to beds - I went to a wedding last year where the band played "killing in the name of" as a request - everyone had a great jump around.0 -
Me and OH chose about 10 songs,i dont want our songs being played all night,a bit of variety with the ones we chose thrown in along the way0

"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0
