I think it depends on what you call resonable. My dress is by Alfred Angelo and was £850. Hope that helps

Sorry, I have edited my post, having a melt down, i had it in my head it was for an ordinary dress, forgot where I was for a moment.:o

My daughter chose hers from the Mark Lesley Collection.

Fabulaous skirt, flowing, hand beaded top and beads dotted all over the dress in the colour grape, absolutely gorgeous for £835.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I think it depends a bit on the shop as well as the style...

My dress is by Mori-Lee, and was marked up at £825 (Got money off for buying the sample though!) but one from the same range at another shop 10 miles away was £1,299!!! It was a different style, with more embellishment, but I thought that was a hell of a difference!

    Hi.
You have your designers such as Mori Lee, Alred Angelo,Justin Alexander, Bonny Bridal, Benjamin Roberts, Ian Stuart, Maggie Sottero, Charlotte Balbier, Amanda Wyatt to name a few and then you'd have the what I call higher end Phillipa Lepley, Sassy Holford, Madeline Issac James, Stuart Parvin, Caroline Castigliano

And of course the award winning No 9 Bridal Couture has some scrumptious stuff, and I can highly recommend her bespoke service :)

A romantica lace one I tried was 790, sottero lace one was 950, Mark lesley normal type dress was 850 and amanda wyatt normal one was 795 all in different shops. Mark lesley and amanda wyatt were nice fits, the romantica one not so much but that may have just been the one I tried and the maggie one pulled everything in but was really comfortable. I know it's against the advice to try on dresses that are a bit more expensive but you can always keep an eye out on eBay Preloved etc and the shops own sample sales/ off the rack for a bargain one! Once you have tried a few on you'll know the designers you like and which ones you don't...not like I went to about 10 dress shops or anything...:o

True Bride & Forever Yours also offer a number of dresses between 500-800 :).

I wouldn't only try on dresses in your price range though, while you might be worried about falling in love with something expensive you might also be able to get a sample or 2nd hand one within your budget, it won't hurt to try.

PS - Also, it might be worth considering a Prom Dress, many come in white and priced under a normal 'wedding dress'.

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I went to about 20 shops so I probably trump everyone!!!! :rotfl:

OP - maybe try Dessy as well, they do BM dresses but all their dresses come in lots of colours including white and ivory! I like their lux chiffon dresses best, they look more expensive that they are iykwim, and to me they're better value than Monsoon/Coast dresses around the same price. HTH!

A few more to add to the dearer end: David Fielden, Jenny Packham, Beverly Lister, Reem Acra, Elie Saab - all fab designers but cost ££££s!!!!

But if you DO fall in love with a dress that's above your budget, you may be able to find it cheaper in another shop (haggle like mad), or on preloved/eBay/gumtree/sellmyweddingdress.

    Good luck!!!!!!!!!
