Bad Address for a Loan?
I friend of mine has applied for a loan and has told me he was refused because there was bad debt at the address he is renting.
I know the last person who lived there was up to all sorts so mail still comes from companies chasing debt but i didnt think that this could have affected his application?
Is he right?

No. Credit belongs to a person, not a front door.0

No he's not right. Addressess are not blacklisted, bad credit is registered against a person not where they live.
He must have been refused for another reason.

Where do people come up with this idea that addresses are affected by bad credit.0

He is probably too embarrassed about his financial aptitude so made up a story to save face.
I hope his application wasn't to repay you anything he owes, you could be in for a very long wait.0 -
Thanks everyone, that's what i thought too and have told him. I'm guessing he just assumed that this was the reason.
Ive just found out hes not on the electoral register so I guess that would be a good starting point for him, before he reapplies!0
