Ignore Santander Zero Credit Card Preload

Hi,
Getting a little confused with using this card abroad to withdraw cash at ATMs, from what I read there are no fees with cash withdraws but there is a 27.9% APR once money is withdrawn.
To get around this couldn't you just load the credit card account with money or does the 27.9% interest apply with each withdraw?
Many thanks in advance for helping out.

I wish I'd a pound for every time this question gets asked on here (and 50p for every time it gets asked about the Halifax Clarity card).
It's against the card's T&Cs to pre-load it in the way you describe. That said, it may work and save you a few pence...but if they block your account whilst you're away would that be a problem?0 -
cheers yorkshireboy, it's been awhile using the site but did find my answer buried deep in the site.0

You don't need to put it in credit in advance. You can pay on the day of withdrawal by FPS. When I pay from Barclays to Santander Zero, the money appears on my Santander online banking in under ten seconds, hence no interest.0

I applied for the Santander Zero card a few months back. The advisor selling it to me actually said that I could pre-load it and that's what he did when going abroad.
It wasn't until I asked in a different Santander branch that I was told that I couldn't and that they could put a block on the card.
I did complain as the 'pre-loading' was the main reason for me accepting the card, but kept it as it is still a good card for 0% purchases abroad. As my Mum always said "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"0 -

I think it's best not to take advice from their salesmen too seriously. When I was in there they tried to convince me to lie on an application form and claim I didn't have any student accounts elsewhere and open one with them!0
