Lowell Portfolio Default

Hi
Sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere on the forum (pretty sure it has), but I have just obtained my credit report from experian and it does list all of my accounts. I am in my last year of a DMP and out of 10 creditors I only have 3 defaults issued against my name to date.
Anyway, one of the defaults is for Lowell. This was originally a debt with littlewoods and it was sold to them. My question is do they have the right to issue a default against me, when I never actually had a credit agreement with them? Littlewoods have not listed any defaults against my credit file.
Thanks
GS

What tends to happen is that Littlewoods would have originally recorded the default, then when Lowells bought the debt the default record would have it's name changed over to Lowells.
That is OK, and is officially what should/can be done according to the ICO's opinion on the matter.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
