Need help repaying overdraft!

Hi,

I was a part-time student and had to use my overdraft to cover rent and books etc and now I'm £500 in debt.

Lloyds are calling asking for the money and I've talked with them but they're getting quite serious.

I was thinking of getting a small loan but no banks will loan out money to an unemployed person.

Any ideas of what to do?

This must of been going on for some time as usually a bank will set-up a repayment plan. I had a student overdraft with HSBC for £1500 and i reduced it by £120 a month, and I was clear in just over a year. They were more than happy to set that up for me. This was over 3 years ago now.

I find it hard to believe that they are just demanding the money and not budging.
  • Like bbfc said, I also had a overdraft when I was young of £500 which I couldn't afford to repay but Nationwide lowered it by £30 per month as I made payments into it. All banks should offer this if you ask them.
