wages in arrears and liquidation

Can someone please help me?
I've recently been told through my friend that her friend who works for the same firm as me, received a letter saying our works is going into liquidation. She is off sick at mo and is not returning. I'm really worried coz i've received no letter but things have been weird.
I only recently returned to work from maternity leave on December 1st. My Boss told me that my leave money ran out on November 22nd and agreed I return to work on December 1st. When I returned, I was told it ran out on 15th Nov and I got payed bugar all at end of November. At the end of December I was then told I should of come back on November 1st. At the end of December I was told I'm not entitled to any money as we work a Month in hand, this is wrong as we actually work 2 MONTHS IN HAND!!! this is wrong isant it?????
I had to make do with a couple of weeks holiday money. I then had to work till the end of January to receive December's money!!!!
Is it also wrong that I work whatever in arrears after i've been on Maternity leave? I thought that only happened when you start a new job!!! I'm in turmoil!!! i've had no money to live on, i've been overdrawn!! I'm lucky I have a partner in full time work or i'd never of survived with looking after my little one financially!!!
With this recent letter, I don't know what to think. Do firms let you know one by one at the last minute? also over the Months my work colleagues and I have always been payed by cheques, never in the bank. We've been payed in 2 halves even 3 cheques and several times, theve bounced and been represented. Stock recently wasn't coming in. What's going on?
What will happen if it's true about the liquidation?
will I get my 2 MONTHS of pay??

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what is happening and we can only guess. But a good guess is that the employer is going under. If they go under owing you money then you will get some or all of it back (it's subject to a cap ).plus redundancy if applicable from a scheme run by the state - but it won't be any time in the next few weeks.
