Should you get free eye test post pregancy

I have just had my eyes tested with Boots. The optician told me that pregancy can make you more shortsighted and when my perscription was a bit worse she said that was probably due to having my baby. So I ask the question to you moneysavers why is the eye test not included like the free perscriptions and dental care.

Can I also ask what else do they check on a contact lense review. I dont really wear lenses except for parties/weddings etc (which i dont go to many at the moment) so I dont really want to sign up for a monthly supply. I have few left over from last perscription. When I do wear them it is only for a couple of hours. My eyes were perfectly healthy at my eye test. Could I be in danger of harming my eyes if I dont get them checked.

thanks
