hi folks,really struggling paying my credit card debt at the moment.....phoned national debtline and they recommended going down the das i.e dmp route,i was just wondering if anyone has tried phoning a credit card company (mainly halifaxone or mbna) and got anywhere

is that 24k or £2,400 ?In London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0

thanks for that,really i was just wondering about the cards and if they would reduce it if a said i will have to go on a dmp if they dont,just wondering what their reaction would be and if my credit rating would be shot for even suggesting they cut it.

I doubt they would reduce it tbh its worth calling and asking? A dmp will damage your credit rating for 6 years, but if you really cant cut anything else and still cant afford the payments I recommend using one of the debt charities and giving them a call for advice
