My butchers have just started to stock these & so far I've tried the Dopiaza one & I can say if the others are as good as that one,I'm hooked!

Love these sauces!!
If you go to their stall in St. George's Market, Belfast at the weekends you can try tasting all the different sauces first - starting from mild up to the very hot!!!
Last time I think I got 3 for a tenner. They also freeze well so you can stock up.
Fancy an Indian now0 -

Around £4 but it'll still be cheaper than a take away...0 -
But wouldn't your takeaway include rice and, probably, some meat?
True,but the average cost of an Indian take away is around £11 per person,including sides & bread;
Pakora £2.50
Naan £2.00
Pilau Rice £1.50
Chicken Dopiaza £6.50
Total £12.50
(Prices taken from the menu of my local curry house)
Add to that delivery cost or petrol if you go & collect it...0 -
I've not tried these, but they do seem expensive.. The Asian Supermarket on Agincourt Avenue (Ormeau Road) is well worth a look if you like curries. Very cheap to buy pastes and also spices if you wish to make up your own pastes and sauces.0

I normally call in when I'm up in Belfast every now & again,I've used the jars of sauces like Pataks ect but don't really rate them too highly. When I factor in petrol to go up to Belfast, these work out just as cheap.0 -

Seem a bit pricey to me but I think I will get one just to try.
I have tried a few different currys/pastes/kits etc including Pataks.
The best I have found so far is the-spice-is-right (http://www.thespiceisright.biz/) based on a recommendation from these forums :T You get 5 different kits for £12.50 from their ebay shop and each kit makes 8 generous portions. Its just spice mixes though, but they are easy to use.
If anyone else has good recommendations please let us know as having a hot curry is a great excuse for a few :beer:0 -
First bought them at the Christmas Market a few years ago and frequently buy them when I see them. Great sauces.0
