Thanks for your replies. I'll have the money to get a new one in a couple of weeks, I only use it once a day for a couple of minutes at a time so I think it can hold on until then.

If you only use it once a day for a few minutes is it worth considering whether you actually need a microwave? I'm asking because we decided to get rid of ours around 5 years back and we don't miss it at all. We've only considered wether we should get one once in all that time and that was when a visitor with a baby came and we couldn't warm the milk up instantly. This was solved with a jug and sme hot water however.0

I could manage without but my son, who has autism likes a particular chip product, due to the fact that they are all the same size (fries to go). He doesn't eat many different foods.:(terra_ferma wrote: »
