IBS help please

My 11 year old son has been suffering with IBS symptoms for a year or so now - tummy pain most of the time.
All tests have come back negative e.g. for Crohns, Coeliac disease.
The medical profession have pretty much washed their hands of him!
We have tried a dairy free diet in the last few weeks which has improved his symptoms enormously.
I would like advice on how we re-introduce dairy afterwards, from someone else who has gone through this. Do we introduce just, say, a little at a time, or put his dairy intake back to what it was before and see what happens?
Are their other foods which are known to cause such symptoms in a child>

Hi I am sorry your son isn't well, I have lactose intolerance, I avoided any lactose for three weeks, and then I gradually reintroduced it. I started with milk on my cereal.
There is some good advice here
Hope this helps.
Best wishes

You could try adding into this diet Colpermin - a natural peppermint capsule that dissoves once it's pas tthe stomach to reduce cramping etc (you need to take about 30 mins before food), and also visit your local health shop, I find the independent ones best, and you can get some really good pro-biotics that you have to keep in the fridge, but I find my symptoms much better when I take these with each meal.0

I am unable to have to much dairy and beans, plays havoc with my bowels. The most milk I have is in 2 cups of coffee a day, anymore than that I feel sick and ibs plays up. Same with to much cheese etc. I am OK with chocolate though. As for baked beans wow more than a table spoon I am suffering greatly. Also to many tomatoes I find I am bad, and to much red meat too.
Hope this helps.0
