Facebook just for comping?!

Hello all,
I started comping late last year and I'm sure I remember reading that people had set up a separate fb account for competitions....
Do you set up another account in your normal name etc? Sorry to ask what seems like a stupid question, but I thought someone would be kind enough to help!
Thanks

There has been some disagreement on this because of FB rules but I do have a seperate account for comping in my real name and a seperate one for personal and keeping in touch with friends. My FB one is public and so anyone can see things on it and my personal one is just that and it's private. Other people group people into groups on one seperate FB account and just send things to their comping friends.
Personally I don't seen the problem with having a FB comping account as long as you don't use both your accounts for comping because that's just being greedy.:grouphug::lovethoug:lovethoug Keeping busy very important at the moment. Lost my loving partner this year. Always in my thoughts.0 -

Problem is facebook T&Cs do not allow two accounts and if they find out will close one or both. (If you happen to win something on FB and someone else who has entered finds you have 2 accounts don't be surprised if you lose your fb account/s and any prize even if you only voted from one account)
See this post from another threadSuperluckyDi wrote: »I popped over here as I've had a lot of hits on my blog today linked from this thread.
I posted a blog about keeping everything on one account using lists and privacy settings:
http://super-lucky.blogspot.com/2011/11/double-trouble-ditch-your-comping.html - you're right though, the Public Sharing is the biggest pain - you don't want to share comps with your family and non-comping mates. But Sharing comps are against Facebook rules so they are likely to be phased out next year anyway, as the IPM are working with FB to clamp down on the rules. Share comps are also incredibly hard to win, so I rarely bother with them.
In my correspondence with Facebook they urged me to report anyone with two accounts. With the introduction of Timeline this month, Facebook want your profile page to be the story of your life, with photos and memories. Having two accounts goes against everything Facebook stands for - I'm sure next year their rules will be tightened up a lot!
Also watch out, there are MANY angry people on FB at the moment reporting duplicate accounts - whether or not you comp from the second one!

Totally agree with MJM and Facebook have closed down accounts where they have found out people have more than one account.
I would be more concerned with the amount if fake profiles, stealing photos and cheating that is going on with FB just now. It really is getting beyond a joke.
Someone on another forum discovered someone on FB setting up fake profiles using others photographs. Its an absolute disgrace :mad:The best things in life are free.....0 -
