morgage refusal

Options
i have £60,000 in a bank account and wish to buy a house.
i live in scotland & looking to buy for <£90K.
i am originally from brazil, have held full uk residency for 8 years, am not employed due to autistic son.
i receive a substantial income of £1100 per month maintenance from ex-husband + £300 per month disablity living allowance
but i still cannot get a mortgage.
i am only looking to borrow £50K as a mortgage, with the £60K as downpayment/deposit with the additional funds for rennovation/improvements etc.
i have approached several of the usual lenders, brokers & even the high interest 'bad credit' lenders with no luck.
i have missed out on several houses in the past 6 months and am desperate for some help/guidance.
someone please help!

  • What are the reasons why, the lenders/brokers are turning you down ???
    independent mortgage/financial adviser martin@hendersonponsford.com
  • sorry for delay in reply - have been away......
the brokers/lenders said that as i do not work, i don't have an independent income, even though the income i do get is guaranteed.
