I am not the best person to ask but you do not have to go, or is it complusory?0 -
Hello No we don't have to go it's our choice just feel it's not fair on part timers when full timers go for free and feel this puts up a divide between us !0

Here's a link to the laws on not discriminating against part-time workers:
http://findlaw.co.uk/law/employment/discrimination/500293.html
It says 'Where possible, they must offer part-time workers ‘pro rata’ benefits in proportion to the time that they will be working.' I guess they would try to justify their decision based on this. However it does seem unfair, e.g. full time workers get a freebie and you don't. I would be taking it to HR I think but depends how important it is to you.0 -
Do the full timers pay into a fund that pays for these events? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

hi everyone thanks for your reply's no the full timers do not pay into a fund.0

it is a miserable policy, but not sure about legally it being unfair - could be argued that 20 hours gets you the 50% discount on the ticket price and 40 hours gets you the 100% discount - or free...
why not just raise it with HR or manager discretely incase someone has made a dumb decision and not thoguht it through much!0
