Got released from BR 10 months ago. I was fortunate nat west kept my full current account open throughout bankruptcy with debit card cheque book etc. Not the greatest fan of RBS though so applied to my local Lloyds branch to open an account and was expecting simply a basic account but she put all of my details into the computer and I was offered numerous accounts including a full current 'silver' account with debit card and cheque book. Also opened me a savings account. The other accounts offered to me were standard current, islamic and basic. Just want to say this didnt even require local input it was simply from my profile. I was honest with her and told her all of my history. Im a bit perplexed as to how this has happened as reading the stories on here there are obviously many problems re opening accounts. One thing we did do is clean up my history on my credit file pretty much immediately after discharge. Hope others on here have the same luck.

I think someone posted a few months ago about being able to open a full Lloyds current account not long after discharge. Maybe they have relaxed their rules a little in the last year? Or maybe you were both just lucky.
Either way - GREAT NEWS. :jWhen I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
