Where to buy fridge/freezer

Options
I need to buy a fridge/freezer in the next week or so but I have no idea where to look for the best deal. Are there any good eBay shops that do good prices on refurbs? Am I best off looking at little local high street shops? I'm not bothered on new vs. used. All that matters is that it's freestanding, good-sized for a family of 3, and doesn't require me to pick it up. Any tips? I'd like to keep the price below £200 if possible.

  • At the time I bought mine, Boots online were the cheapest.

The big retailers have clearance auction sites.

I'd suggest finding a model within you price range then do some online research into prices.

Don't forget to factor in delivery costs.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Shop around on what you want, when you know the model you want just google it.

I find Dixons on line much cheaper than their sister company Currys. Ive bought 2 or 3 things from them and they have been £40 or so cheaper, dont forget also to look for codes for money off and also go through a cash back site.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

For just over £200, this is a pretty good buy:

    http://www.appliancesonline.co.uk/product/RFA52P-Hotpoint-Iced-Diamond-Fridge-Freezer-White-8346.aspx

£209 with free delivery in 3 or 4 days. I've used Appliances Online and awful lot, so can defo vouch for them...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

The cheap ones in Comet are either Proline or Technolec...AVOID...

(Oh and the cheapest full size one they do is £179.99, well worth paying an extra £30 for the Hotpint)

Have you a local Euronics store near you. Ours is usually very competitive on price and does free deliveries on the day you want. Not sure if they all offer this though.

Years ago mine even lent me a washing machine FOC when there was a delay on the one I ordered.

our fridge packed up last week, and I searched for a suitable model to replace it, then did a search for the best price for that model. Appliances online came out best price (by a mile), and they delivered free in 3 days. Rang to confirm the delivery time, and the delivery guys were pleassant too. So I' recommend them, like Meepster above
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I went to Curry's , huge choice ( you can actually touch /play open the door etc ) beats just looking on line. Curry's del next day , took away old model , removed all wrappings , could not have been easier.
