WANTED - Baby Site Codes

Hi all...

Please excuse the somewhat amateur posting but I'm looking for a bit of help. Also hoping to make more use and contribute to these forums in the future! :)

I've been asked to arrange a baby shower for a friend and we're looking for some nice little freebies or cheaper things we can put together to for a bits-and-bobs hamper for mother and baby. I've got 4 weeks to get this together so anything like free nappies, toiletries etc would be a HUGE help. We're not a cheap bunch but since we're buying some bigger items such as stairgates and bouncers for the baby, we wanted to save the pennies with the smaller items.

Many thanks - Mil

The mum will get loads of nappy, wipe, cream etc freebies from Bounty. I don't understand baby showers personally, but I'm sure what you're describing really isn't necessary.

Going on the advise of the father and asking what they would like, those were his ideas, plus you can never have too many nappies and products as far as I'm concerned. Futhermore, a lot of the mothers friends live out of town and dont get to see her much so the baby shower is a lovely opportunity for her to see them all. I dont personally like baby showers and never go to them - this one is quite an exception though in my opinion :)

Fair enough. Personally (I have an 18 month old) I can't think of anything worse, I wouldn't have wanted anyone buying nappies, wipes or toiletries for my son. I was given a "nappy cake" by a relative which contained something like 100 size 4 disposable nappies. Said relative knew I was planning on using reusable nappies for my son. The nappies got donated to the local charity shop along with a truckload of dummies and yucky Johnsons toiletries. I think all I kept was a flannel and a very thin fleece blanket - probably £3 worth of something that cost £30.

  • heya, i signed up to the hipp organic baby club and they sent me a really cute comfort blanket through the post. a sweet little something for a baby shower. my little one loves it as its bright in colour aswell. I would have been very happy to have been given that at my baby shower. I hope she has a fab baby shower and it is a wonderful time to get together with family and friends before the little bundle of joy arrives x:o

Pampers give out two small packs of size 1's which would be perfect to take in s hospital bag, also a small pack of wipes which I carry in my hardback for emergencies and two money off coupons which can be used even with other discounts.

Boots parenting club send some quite good coupons to members, mothercares club sometimes does.

If you look in the print out coupon thread or type nature baby care nappies free into google you will find a printable £4 coupon for their products, I quite like their nappies.

I personally think baby showers are lovely ideas, it's impossible to get every gift right but it's the thought that counts.

Thanks guys :) This is really helpful. Just what I'm looking for.
  • i think baby showers are lovely for friends to get together, they dont have to be expensive.
i done my own nappy cake with my mum as i know where to get vouchers etc for cheaper stuff.

log onto asd baby club and you can download a voucher for huggies newborn starter kit box. (you can actually print two and use them) they are £5 a box but free with voucher. and you get newborn nppies hat and some wipes, plus more vouchers inside for wipes nd nappies.
sometimes these boxes are reduced to £2.50 so with the £2 voucher inside you can get additonal boxes for 50p.
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j
