Paper work. bank statements etc

Hello

Have almost finished SOA etc. ready for court date next week.

Can only access and print off statements ( bank ) back to June this year. Have to order others it seems. Will it be okay just to supply some.

I cannot afford charges if bank want to charge for me additional work for them.

I don't have the c.c. statements afraid I shredded them when went on DMplan. Have all the account details and numbers and of course all creditor letters etc.

Will this go against me with the OR?

Getting into a right old state with all dates, reasons etc.. Cannot remember when some credit cards started, or what was spent on.

Looks like a deranged persons office in my lounge, paper everywhere. Still its a work in progress!

OR should be able to get those you can't,just explain you don't have the funds to pay,as for dates and amounts of credit cards I just used a best guess of those I didn't know as I didn't have past statements and didn't fancy ringing them up to ask, never seemed a problem as the OR never asked me for any other info.

Just supply what you have available, the OR can get any info they need and at no cost to yourself.

Thank you have now managed to print off from Jan 2011 through to latest 2012 bank statements. They make for awful reading, a wake up call if ever!

Have just plucked up courage to phone my bank ( co-operative) they were great ad very helpful and have agreed to open up a basic bank account for me and will send all details out to me. So I can inform the OR that will have that for my money to be paid into. Am getting there bit by bit.

Thanks for all helpful advice to everyone. Stops you feeling its not just me.
  • I feel for you - I'm on page 18 of my SOA and have put it to bed for the day now, I have a headache!!

Do we have to provide copies of our bank statements with it? Havent read that, I have all my acc no's and dates etc so thought the OR just used that to get further information??

I was not sure but thought if I gathered as much info before hand may take some of the stress of me rather than going into blind panic if they ask for it but sure OR will be able to access anything they want.

Be glad when get all the reasons out of my jumbled head and onto form.

Know what you mean headache have not been sleeping its on my mind all time. Be glad when go to court and have interview out of the way-Court on Tuesday 7th.

Just sorted SOA budget and have today received a rebate from council tax they owed me!!!!! Paid in cheque but may have to draw it once cleared if before Tues as will need it.

Good luck with filling in your SOA.
  • Thank you I think I'm going to need it!!!

Ive justgot to my income part and I'm actually unsure what to put. Because my job only finished last week and am claiming JSA as of this week, I havent actually been told yet what I'm going to get, I know I get the carry on of CTC and WTC for 4 weeks but that will of course go down afterwards, and dont know what JSA will give me cos dont know if its income or contribution based (not that I even understand what that means!!!)

So I'm wondering would it be best to wait 4 weeks before going to court when all I really want to do is get it over and done with :(

All you need to take to Court with you is your forms 6.28 & 6.27 (1 original + 2 copies), plus fees and fee remission form if appropriate. All other paperwork is for the OR and whilst it's great to be ahead of yourself, try not to anticipate too much in case you end up with a load of copies the OR doesn't ask for.

WantToBeFree - If you still don't know how much JSA you will get on the day you atend Court, then just put "JSA (unsure of exact amount yet)" on your form. The OR will know it won't be above a certain amount so that will be fine.

Thank you INAN, so will the same apply to Chid Tax Credits too? Which means all I'll be putting in is CB, HB and maintenance?

Absolutely, you can only put down the truth and if that is that you have no idea how much you will be receiving then that's what you put down. Do ring up DWP and Tax Credits the day before you go BR though, just in case they can give you exact figures.

Obviously, if you haven't exact figures you won't know if you have a surplus or not, so just put down realistic amounts for expenditure and be prepared to go through everything in detail with the OR in your interview. Having said that, all your income is from benefits so you shouldn't be subject to an IPA anyway.;)
