Thanks. I mean couldn't someone just walk into a bank impersonating me? I watch too many 'true crime' programmes...
Well they could but, as stated above, anybody you have ever given a cheque to or has seen your debit card has this information now!
Nearly every business now has to put their bank details on invoices as many companies won't pay by cheque as a BACS payment is cheaper and more secure.
Your bank will not hold you responsible for any fraud that results from giving somebody your account number and sort code.0 -
