And in the plumbing dept you can pick up a pipe cutter thingy (adjustable widths) that you just tighten to fit the wardrobe rail at the required length twist it round the pole a few times and makes a lovely clean cut. Only costs a few pounds much easier/safer than a hacksaw, works great on curtain poles too.

A rail that hangs on, like 30 inch, plastic things that hook onto the top rail?

My DS still uses his 'baby' one! LOL!

Sure I got it off Betterware or Kleeneze many moons ago!

Depending on the cost of the space saver rails your looking for it might be cheaper to just put another rail in. Wilkos do sets with the rail and brackets for £2.99 for a 4ft rail and even cheaper for the smaller one. You find them in the hardware section and I think they're the cheapest around.
