Things my children say

Options
I just had to share...I nearly choked...

While trying to explain the necessity of critical illness insurance on a mortgage to my 7 year old and discussing potential options with DH at the table...

"but mummy, why do you need insurance? When you die, daddy can just get a step-mum to look after us and he can go to work..."

Sometimes, the compassion of children is truly heart-warming.

    Priceless, simply brilliant. :rotfl:

It brings to mind my money saving measures now on DMP.

I now cook from scratch, whereas it used to be olive bread and sun lush tomatoes, takeaways, steam fresh veg, chocolate torte - all from Sainsburys. Now it's homemade shepherds pie or sausage and chips.

Darling daughter - wow Mum, I love it now you are cooking real food like a proper Mum. ......:rotfl:

Quite a few years ago now, but when my DD2 was at playgroup, I was the treasurer, and responsible for banking the fees, paying the staff etc. DD2 had, and has, a very loud, clear voice, almost like a public address system - she is a teacher now :rotfl:

Stood in a queue in the bank one day to do the playgroup banking, and she was quiet - unnervingly so - she was NEVER quiet

Suddenly, the whole building were treated to: 'Mum, is this the bank that sent us the snotty letter?'

I was mortified, but everyone else in the bank was laughing, including the staff :rotfl:

My DD who is 7 once asked me when her dad might die. When I said I didn't know but hopefully not any time soon, she said. 'When he dies, can we get rid of the football channels?'

    Another one....

"Mummy, I don't want you to go to work anymore...."
"But I have to darling...we need the pennies...."
"yes, I know that, but why can't you just go and ask the bank for more pennies and you can stay home with me"

    Gosh, I was almost tempted...
