Plain old jeans - Impossible to find!! Help?

Hi

I have been searching everywhere for a pair of ordinary jeans (ladies), by that I mean ones that sit on the waist and no stretchy stuff! You know the kind you got years ago, the levis/wrangers 'rigid' type. M&S have the 'sit on waist' ones but unfortunately they are very stretchy, which I hate.

I can't buy online because I am between sizes and really need to try a few sizes on. I don't want to pay over the odds, but have searched the high street to no avail.

Anybody know where I can find some?

Other suggestions:- Primark, TJ Hughes, Peacocks, Dorothy Perkins, New Look. Alot of these do A good variety of sizes lengths and whether they are stretchy or not. Hope you get fixed. I have a problem getting jeans too, (leg length is my problem) so I know how you feel! Good Luck, hope you get fixed up soon.

New look have a range, I wear the hula which are fairly high waisted, i know wrangler tina are high, try here

This bugs me too.I've been searching for plain jeans for ages! I cant stand all the stupid bleached patches,holes cut in,and frayed seams.when I've had them 5 years and they look like that it's fine,but I want 5 years of wear first!
They all seem to hang on your bum aswell! I don't want simon cowell style but I would like to crouch down to the kids without having a "builders bum" on show!

Thanks for all replies. I will try again on Saturday at the stores mentioned, but I am sure I have been in most of them.

Have never heard of Countrywide stores, I am in Scotland so maybe we don't have them here.

I got a lovely pair in next (about 8 months ago though) - rigid - up to my belly button, nice fir...perfect!!! Another place I got some nice over the tum amd bum jeans was Benetton
