Credit Card Decisions

Afternoon All, Can one of you good people tell me do credit card companies tell you immediately (e.g. you telephone them) you've been accepted for one or if they say 'it's gone to another department' does that mean you wont get one. Thanks

When its "Gone to another department" it means an underwriter will review it, it has a 50/50 chance of acceptance at that point.

Usually you can call them about 2-3 days after and they'll tell you if you've been accepted, Vanquis dont though so you have to wait for them to call you.

Thanks Tremour-88, Looks like I'll have to keep my fingers crossed. Knowing my blinking luck I'll get refused!!!!!! How come lots of people manage to get more than 1 credit card, that's what I'd like to know.

I've only got one and have never missed any payments, I did go over my credit limit but the credit card company refunded the £12 charge and have reinstated the 0% interest and I checked with them and I don't have a marker or a black blob on my account.

Oh well.
