I recently got a new credit card number and did not notify 18185, so eventually my account was blocked because they had tried and failed to take the amount owed from my card. Fair enough. But when trying to update my payment details I got the message:
It is currently not possible to change your payment details.
Please contact customer services and quote error code 'IMAF'
So I tried the next option they offered:
If you have online banking please transfer the full outstanding invoice,
without rounding up or down, to account 00661271, sort code 15-10-00
in name of Connect Telecom UK Limited in London.
This too failed, with the message "Account not recognised" from my
bank, so I tried the third option which was to email customer services
directly. My email was rejected with the message:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
service@18185.co.uk
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by
the recipient domain.
I similarly tried service@18866.co.uk and service@1899.co.uk which are
all companies owned by Finarea, but all these failed too. It's hard to have faith in a company which no longer provides a way to pay them!

Back in 2007, the Sort Code was the same but the A/C number was different. Want to risk a few pence?

Alternatively, try via http://18185.co.uk/customerservices/customerserviceslogin.php
Take the Charges/Payment option
Then Another payment problem option and
Then This has not solved my problem, click here for the Customer Services form >>).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks. I have tried the way you suggested to contact customer services using the customer services form.0

Trying to send them a real email will always bounce as you have discovered. Using the customer services form works fine but they may take a couple of days to reply.0
