I'm dying to get started saving to pay off the cc's esp after everyones advice on soa the other day. BUT we're behind with some payments and owe my mum a bit which will all be back up to date n mum paid off by end feb so as from March I will be officially getting stuck into cc's. Have come to realise that we'll be having cheaper shops and the kids won't suffer for it, also gonna head to cost*o in few weeks to see whats what n think about bulk buying some stuff (meat, loo roll, washing powder etc) if its much cheaper. Hoping to maybe do that every couple months n farmfoods or something every 2 weeks or so n wee fruit n veg top up at aldi every week......I can easily spend £120 a week in mr A  got a 20 pack of golden w crisps at ffoods for £2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have been closely monitoring heating use (although it been on for bit today as its freezing) as I was putting it on n just leaving it on n house ended up too hot n cost fortune. Hope dh's work picks up soon n his car is cheap to fix so we can maximise both us working (I have to leave 5am for my shifts over weekend so if he has no car he can't get kids to or back from childcare n I'm not home til 9:30pm).........I just want to get on with it now lol, I be wishing feb away

I'm at the other end of the boat, I am just starting my credit adventure. Dying to see if Vanquis have accepted me and then wondering how long it'll be until my credit rating is good enough to get the Amazon card. As a regular user of Amazon the rewards it gives are a no brainer for me, but as a credit newbie I feel it's a long way off yet
Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
Hello Toots. A fresh new diary with lots of positive vibes! Lovely to read.
I've found that keeping a running diary of what I'm doing each day is a really good motivator. Keeping up with some other diaries is just inspiring and really does go a long way to making you feel part of a money saving community!
Well done on getting those payments up to date at the end of the shortest month! That's great news and very exciting.
I used to be the same with my shopping getting out of control. I could spend £80 in a week (I live alone) and yet I probably threw away £40 of that! Now I have a £10 daily budget and buy my food and toiletries from that too and it's made me much more aware of what I spend and not having enough to waste.
I'll keep checking in and seeing how you're doing if that's ok?0 -

You'll get there though. In the meantime do you get nectar points for your Amazon purchases? That's well worth doing in the interim.0 -

please do!!! I probably will sometimes need a kick up the bum so to speak lol. I am bridesmaid at a wedding end of March and have hen weekend coming up so March won't be easy but the more I can cut back elsewhere the better eh. Have already decided Paige (my eldest will be 5 in March so more expense lol) will be wearing her Christmas party frock to the wedding rather than buy new....which is a HUGE thing for me as I'd normally kit her out brand new top to toe....silly I know. I have Dylan (my wee fella, he's 1) and DH's kily hire but Dylan already has a wee shirt n dickie bow so that'll reduce costs there. We're pretty much at rock bottom this couple of weeks, but you know what.....it can't get worse and we've learned what we can live without. We'll get out of this, 2 years I'm setting my target for. Hopefully when we start to get on top of things again we may recover enough to be able to get some 0% offers and do it sooner. I'll be turning 30 this year and its the year to change our lives, think I'll maybe start a diaryin the diaries section, keep an eye out for me n join in, all tips, help etc welcome. xxxxxx0 -

Brilliant idea to start a diary. I'll definitely subscribe so update here when you have and I'll have a nosy over to it.
You sound like you have everything under control with the wedding. It is an expensive time but once that expense is done then the only way is up! Good luck.0 -
