Woman in Black is an old film and not in cinemas currently.

If you mean the stage play, you need to go to the relevant thread for those codes.

Probably meant Woman in Black 2 - released here in January I think. Still too late for code to see free now.

Reunited for the first time since Sense and Sensibility, Alan Rickman directs Academy Award winner Kate Winslet in the romantic drama A Little Chaos.
The year is 1682. Sabine De Barra (Ms. Winslet), a strong-willed and talented landscape designer, fulfils her chosen vocation in the gardens and countryside of France. One day, an unexpected invitation comes: Sabine is in the running for an assignment at the court of King Louis XIV (Mr. Rickman). Upon meeting with her, the King’s renowned landscape artist Andre Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts) is initially disturbed by Sabine’s distinctive eye and forward-thinking nature, but eventually chooses Sabine to build one of the main gardens at The Sun King’s new Palace of Versailles. Under pressure of time and as she charts her own course, Le Notre comes to recognize the value of “a little chaos” in Sabine’s process.

While pushing herself and her workers to complete the Rockwork Grove as an outdoor ballroom, Sabine negotiates the perilous rivalries and intricate etiquette of the court. As she challenges gender and class barriers. Sabine forges a surprising connection with the King himself, and wins a vote of confidence from the King’s brother, Philippe (Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci). As she gradually comes to terms with a tragedy in her past, Sabine’s professional and personal interactions with Andre bring out honesty, compassion, and creativity in both of them.

  • I went to see A Little Chaos last night - and I have agree to a point with Geordie Ben, there wasn't much in the way of plot.

It would have helped if the central premise - Kate Winslet plays a woman who wins a position to design part of the gardens at Versailles for the 'Sun King' Louis IVX - was anywhere near believable. But women just didn't GET jobs like that, then.

However: I will say that it was beautiful to look at: gorgeous costumes, cinematography, lighting.

And I know this is terribly shallow, but: Kate wore 'working' clothes for the garden work, and spent a large part of the film showing off a really terrific brown leather corset belt.

Now I happen to know that corsets are due to be very trendy this year - and she did look REALLY good in hers, so much so that I am definitely going to dig out a black leather one I have!

I have tried to source a still of it to show you, this is the nearest I can find:

Believe me, it looked better than this close up! You will just have to go and see the film to see HOW good! ;-)

(Oh, and the Belgian chap who plays opposite her as the Comte du Notre - Matthias Schoenaerts - makes very, very easy viewing, ladies!)

    Dark Horse - Cameo Edinburgh 6th April @ 11am.

It was sad to see a few people with valid tickets being turned away this morning, as the 58 seater cinema was filled by 10.50am.
I felt particularly sorry for an elderly lady who said that she had travelled from Fife to see the film and was sent away.
The staff seemed to think that people had been walking in without tickets, but I imagine that some may have printed off two sets, but it's hard to call.
Perhaps the cinema should be checking the codes on the tickets taken in to see if any are duplicates?
Enforces the idea of getting there early to secure a seat though I suppose, although it shouldn't be a lottery.

I also saw a trailer for 'Far From The Madding Crown' today, just to let the ladies know that Matthias Schoenaerts also appears in that film (see post #4704 for photo).
