My local venue has had 1 free screening in 2014 so far- and posted with 2 hours notice so I missed it, and I think 3 subscription ones all kiddy films.
The East isn't much better served!
  • I'm hoping someone can help me. I got some free tickets to see Starred Up from Sun Perks and I'm wondering what's the procedure for when I get to the cinema? Do I just go to the screen and present my booking confirmation? Also is it likely that I won't get admitted? I don't wanna spend time getting to the cinema only to not be admitted.

    Thanks in advance.

All you need to do is take the printout to the people who tear the tickets. They will either direct you to the screen where the film is showing or else ask you to wait until the screen is ready, possibly in a queue.

The film will show without any ads and trailers so be prompt. I would advise you to arrive 30 minutes before the film is due to start. So if due to start at 6.30pm, arrive at 6pm. That way you shouldn't have any problems getting in.

They can turn away latecomers and if the film is oversubscribed, they will turn away people if there are too many for the room too.

If you prefer to buy snacks at the cinema rather than take your own, then grab your seat first and then go and buy them. That way, you won't be stuck in the rotten seats.

    Enjoy :)

Did anyone see Labor Day? I went last night. I read a review before which said it was cheesy and bad - have to agree. People were laughing at some of the lines but it is not a comedy. Was quite surprised as the main actors (Winslet and Brolin) have had some good roles behind them. Director made Juno and Up in the Air so I think it was just a bad script with hammy acting delivering those lines.

You may like it! The film is watchable and I tried to keep an open mind but it is nothing like the other films the director has done. The scenery is lovely and the back story was intriguing. I would love to know what you think once you've seen it...
