I posted it in this thread for someone who specifically asked for details about it. Whether it was free or not is irrelevant! I don't understand why it was deleted - this thread is for discussion!

I thought we were still debating whether those tickets are free anyway?! :p
  • Surely the Mail ones for Hitchcock aren't free if you have to buy the paper?

Are any of the tickets we ever get free? do you not pay for broadband, ink for printing tickets, travel to get to the cinema, a sky subscription, electricity for your computer, or data for your phone... the list is endless.

are those tickets free if you have enough points? Yes! we need no further argument

Exactly! There are lots of other Boards on this forum that this "deal" could be posted on. This is not the correct one.

There is a huge difference between buying a newspaper and paying the equivalent of £20 for a cinema ticket :rotfl::rotfl:

I have masses of points accumlated from friends using my card when they go to cinema so don't need to have spend anything for them to be on my card. But that is totallt irrelevant.

I have looked on the website & not found it so how would I know it's not at my cinema & still do not understand why you aren't willing to share where you have got this 'info' from?

So *now* you have seen it with your own eyes (which obviously you weren't able to use to find on Odeon site) Can you see your Odeon listed?

Because if you can, you should have got the free tickets shouldn't you? And if you can't, you caused all that fuss just for the hell of it!

Let's out this into perspective and address some of the issues raised here.

Nobody in their right mind subscribes to Sky and Sky Movies just to get free cinema tickets and Sky don't ask you to do that either.

Buying a newspaper costs a few pounds and you get the newspaper, not just the code it contains.

Odeon are asking you to redeem 200 points which equates to £20. That is hardly free.

Now, if this had been an "exclusive deal" as they refer to it, I may well have posted it elsewhere on this forum. However, this thread is on a board called "Freebies: (No Spend Required) Board" and whilst we do post codes from newspapers that go against the strict description, this film offer has already been posted on the Codes Only thread because the film is showing at the same Odeon, on the same date and at the same time. So it was a pointless activity.

Anybody who qualified for the invitation, will have been sent an email with the details. If you did not receive an email, the chances are that your Odeon is not on the list of participating cinemas. And if you are so interested in seeing for yourself, all you needed to do was check the website.

This Board/thread should not have links to deals such as this latest from Odeon as it is inappropriate. Share them elsewhere on MSE but not on here. For that matter,I don't think we should be posting links to other forum either especially when that information is already on the Codes Only thread.
  • And who made you Mr/Mrs Lord Almighty to decide what could or couldn't be posted???

Actually I passed the info to a friend who had been unable to get 'free' tickets but was glad to be able to go to see the film using odeon points - from my card I wish to add.
